Thailand Export Demurrage and Detention Calculation
Change in calculation logic, effective 17th Oct 2022
Export Demurrage and Detention: Our setup in Thailand will be demurrage and detention. This means you will have separate free time and compensation for utilization of equipment inside (Demurrage) and outside (Detention) of terminals or depots including compensation for utilizing the port, terminal, or depot facilities.
Free time: "Free Time" is the period agreed between the Carrier and the Merchant for which Demurrage and Detention shall not be paid by the Merchant.
Detention: Compensation payable when the Merchant holds Carrier's Container outside the port, terminal, or depot beyond the agreed amount of Free Time.
Demurrage: Compensation payable when the Merchant holds Carrier’s Container inside the terminal, port, or depot beyond the agreed amount of Free Time.
Export D&D charges are applied according to official tariff and t is calculated based on the ETD prevailing at 2 days prior to empty pick up. To stay informed about transport plan changes on your shipment, subscribe to notification on our website: Notifications.
