Sustainability at A.P. Moller - Maersk
A comprehensive ESG strategy with a commitment to reach net zero across our business by 2040.
Our approach to sustainable impact
Maersk is a purpose driven company and always has been. Increasing complexity in global supply chains drives the need for integrated logistics. We aim to fulfil that need by sustainably and responsibly delivering better, simpler and more reliable outcomes for our customers – improving life for all by integrating the world.
ESG strategy and governance
Our ESG strategy is centred around three core commitments that together encompass 14 ESG categories. We consider these to be where Maersk can deliver the greatest impact.
Engaging with our stakeholders
Our stakeholders expect us to act on the issues they care about and where Maersk has the ability to make a significant difference. When defining our sustainability priorities, we focus on seven key stakeholder groups: our customers, employees, investors and analysts, supplier and business partners, authorities, NGOs, communities and nature.
Experts across our organisation continually engage with these groups, incorporating their input and feedback in the identification of material issues that we address as a company.
Our policies and positions
We have established policies and positions that describe how we act on specific issues across ESG, including decarbonisation and energy transition, environment, human rights, and engagement with trade associations.
