Heading into winter months, we are seeing extreme weather conditions having an impact on our operations, and consequently on service reliability and ETAs. Severe weather conditions along the route between North and South Europe, together with storm Ciaran that hit the UK and North Europe mainland, have caused a ripple effect of disruptions to our network and schedules.
Adverse weather conditions are expected to continue to impact the continent, with possible stoppages in terminal operations that could occur at short notice. Our teams continue to closely monitor the situation across the continent and keep in contact with port authorities and our crews at sea, to determine the best and safest options for moving our customers’ cargo. As the adverse weather situation is ongoing, it is difficult to estimate exact weather schedules, but rest assured our teams are doing everything in their power to minimise delays for our customers.
Our teams update current vessel ETAs as soon as they are known. All updates on cargo status can be found at www.maersk.com/schedules/.
At this time, all terminals in the UK and North Europe remain operational, with stoppages with minimal impact possible at Felixstowe. In Hamburg, closure of the river Elbe is in effect since this morning and is expected to continue until Sunday, 5 November, for vessels over 380m in length, with minimal impact to our operations.
We will keep customers informed of any updates on this advisory page as soon as more information is available. Our teams remain at your disposal, and should you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your local Maersk representative. We thank you for your understanding during this time.
