The most efficient way to make a booking is via our E-tool. To make a booking through maersk.com , you will need to be registered as a user.
Below export procedure steps
- Booking must be placed online via our website: maersk.com, EDI, INTRAA.
- New customers to present supporting documents to proof their office address including copy of the Chamber Registration and Letter Of Indemnity attested by local Chamber.
- Once booking is confirmed, you will receive Booking confirmation to collect the empty containers from the depot. (depot name, location is mentioned on the booking confirmation)
- Shipping Instructions must be submitted 10 days prior to vessel arrival. SI cutoff details will be mentioned on the Booking confirmation.
- Once SI is accepted, English Manifest along with EDI (Saudi EDI – is Saudi customs system) rotation numbers is released at ETA-7 days for Jeddah, KAP and ETA -10 for Dammam and Jubail.
- EDI is used to update Saudi Customs system with English Manifest details in Arabic. EDI update is mandatory to Gate-In the containers.
- Using English manifest along with EDI rotation number, customer is required to print the pre-bayan from the EDI (Saudi customs system) and shuttle the containers inside.
- The cutoff to Gate-in the boxes is ETA-2 days for Jeddah and KAP, Every Saturday 2000Hrs for AlJubayl and For Dammam As per IPS Website (Timing are subject to Port acceptance if Vessel delayed) also accurate days and notification about gate-in cutoff is shared along with the manifest.
- Once containers are gated-in, customer is required to complete the customs clearance and obtain Bayan (customs Green signal) and load permit from terminal. Bayan cut-off For AL Jubayl is Every Sunday 17:00hrs (ETA –1days) and for Dammam its Every Thursday 17:00hrs (ETA –2days). Bayan cutoff details are also shared along with the English Manifest.
- Once all formalities are completed, Containers are ready to be loaded on the vessel.
Documentation
- Once SI is submitted online , Bill of lading Draft is available online for Review and confirmation .
- Once Vessel sail , customer is required to settle the freight and agreed charges enabling to issue Bill of lading .
** All above loading is subject to space /vessel /equipment availability.
** For any legal disputes , Bill Of lading clauses will be applied.
Charges
Recovery of Handling Exports shall be paid in Saudi Arabia
Cross Trade Shipment
The following information and documents are required:
- Local Saudi Party Involved
- CR Copy (Chamber of Commerce registration)
- Responsible party for Detention charges to be advised
- Product ETA should be 9 days +
Commodity
Any commodity code/description contains the word OIL or Bitumen or Fuel. Please contact sa.export@maersk.com before proceeding with bookings / documentation, except for container type “TANK”. These commodities in TANK containers are accepted.
There are no restrictions imposed on local cargo exported from Saudi Arabia. However all export cargo is subject to inspection from customs.
We do not accept lubricants & Bitumen in flexi-bags or flexi-tanks.
Countries banned for Export
Country: ISRAEL
NOT accepted: Cargo originating from and/or destined to ISRAEL.
Country : Qatar
NOT accepted: Cargo originating from and/or destinated to Qatar

Weight / Measurement
DRY Weight
- Port gantry can handle maximum gross weight shown on the container/not exceeding CSC plate rating
- Shipper to ensure that they follow Saudi road weight limitations for transportation of the containers
REEF & Special Cargo Weight
- Subject to standard Maersk Line approval procedures.
Shipping Special Cargoes
- OOG and IMO cargo acceptance is subject to standard Maersk approval procedures.
