Booking details have to be submitted in writing and have to contain all valid details like container size, number of containers to be booked, rate agreed for this transport or a request for a rate quotation, vessel to ship on as well as any other important information. For dangerous cargo, no bookings will be accepted, unless we are in possession of a readable dangerous cargo declaration in English. Acceptance of out of gauge cargo is subject to space availability.
All bookings are received on conditional basis only until we have checked equipment availability, vessel space availability, positioning possibilities etc. After all checks have been performed from our side, you will receive a booking confirmation.
Documentation procedures
Shipping instructions have to be sent in English to Maersk in the following ways:
- Via Maersk Web or our Desktop solution. These instructions are taken over as they are and are not changed in any way.
- Via email to angord@maersk.com These instructions are copied and pasted into our manifest system.
- Via fax to +244 2 399 388. These instructions are completely retyped.
All instructions have to be given as early as possible, however,at the latest 24 hours, before the arrival of intended export vessel. In the case of late submission of shipping instructions cargo will not be loaded and all extra costs (storage etc) will be for the shipper's / forwarder's account.
Bills of lading will only be issued based on proper shipping instructions. No export customs documents will be accepted.

Luanda port: IMO cargo class 1 and 7 must only to be handled by direct delivery. IMO cargo class 5.1 can stay in the yard a maximum of 48 hours. Cost incurred due to delay will be charged to the customer. No restrictions for all other IMO cargo.
Namibe and Lobito port: All IMO cargo must only be handled by direct delivery. Written confirmation from Port is required. Please contact your Customer service agent to obtain confirmation.

No container will be loaded on board on a vessel without VGM, resulting in cargo delivery delays. Additionally, potential demurrage and/or detention charges may apply when a container is sitting idle at the terminal waiting for VGM submission.
