Application: The free time & charges applied will be those in place on the origin price calculation date (PCD). Export D&D is applied according to official tariff on our web site: maersk.com and based on ETD available 2 days prior empty pick up. Freetime: “Free Time” is the period agreed between the Carrier and the Merchant for which Demurrage and Detention shall not be paid by the Merchant.
Detention: Compensation payable when the Merchant holds Carrier's Container outside the port, terminal or depot beyond the agreed amount of Free Time.
Demurrage: Compensation payable when the Merchant holds Carrier’s Container inside the terminal, port or depot beyond the agreed amount of Free Time (the compensation includes terminal storage costs).

Note: Export Detention on all empty export containers that are returned to carrier upon booking cancellation, will be calculated from the date of removal of the empty containers from any of carrier depots, until the date which the container is returned to carrier, not used for export. Free days will not be considered, standard per diem rates will be applied.
Demurrage - Penalty charged by holding carrier for storage of property beyond allowable free time for removal or unloading.

Electronic Cargo Release Service - Export

Description
Also known as 'Telex' or 'Express' release, this releases the cargo at destination upon proof of identity of the receiver as consignee.
This is done once all 3 original BLs have been surrendered by the consignee, or an authorised agent of the consignee, at another carrier's office location (not the discharge port).
This service (TLE) is applied upon the customer's request and gets added to the shipment only after the BLs have been surrendered.

IMPORTANT RE USE OF CONTAINER
As from 14th of June 2021, Maersk in Lithaunia will be handling all requests for reuse of containers (=triangulation) through the online portal of Avantida. We will no longer handle requests that are received through the current channels such as email or telephone.
UNAUTHORIZED REUSE!!!
Reuse of CARRIER equipment by the “requesting party” without previous express acceptance by CARRIER will constitute unlawful and unauthorized reuse and will give rise to a penalty/fine of EUR 1000,- ( one thousand) for an unauthorized reuse and to a penalty/fine of EUR 2000,- (two thousand) for off-hire or Reefer equipment, to be charged by CARRIER to the requesting party.
Freight
Freight rate (transportation price) must be agreed prior any shipment. Please contact our Sales department litsal@maersk.com with all kinds of freight requests. In your request, please indicate the following information:
- your company's name, contact person, telephone, fax or email
- commodity
- cargo pick-up point
- cargo delivery point
- container size and type
- special requirements, if any or your comments.
Basically any additional information about your future shipment is welcome. For dangerous cargo, please indicate full commodity name, IMO class and UN number. For temperature-controlled cargo, please advise required temperature and humidity.
Please note we can help you only with FCL (full container load) shipments. Minimal tare size is 20-foot container.
Booking
Please place your booking by sending an email message to litsal@maersk.com Alternatively you can use our website or our desktop booking application. You can also make it in old-fashioned way - send a fax to +370 46 483419.
Booking must be in written form and contain the following information in order to be processed smoothly:
- stuffing date, time and address
- container size, type and quantity
- contact person and phone number
- destination (delivery address is not required at this stage)
- any other information relevant to the shipment
In case of carrier haulage, please allow at least 24 hours for pick-up coordination.
For dangerous cargo, please indicate full commodity name, IMO class, UN number, special requirements (for ex. temperature), if required. Please note that abundant information is better than missing one.
Customs clearance is not included in freight and is not performed by default. However, we can arrange customs clearance upon your request.
Documentation
Shipping instructions have to be sent to Maersk by the following ways:
Preferred option is via website or desktop booking application.
Alternative way is sending email to litsal@maersk.com or by fax +370 46 483419.
Please provide shipping instructions before container leaves Klaipeda port. Although it is possible to submit shipping instructions later, we will not be responsible for any fines that rise due to late submission of shipping instructions. These fines will be passed over to the shipper or involved forwarder.
Due to tough safety regulations in the United States, shipping instructions for any cargo shipped to or via USA must be available our end latest 48 hours prior to the vessel arrival to the first US port.
Bill of lading originals
Bill of lading will be issued as per proper shipping instructions.
Bills of lading originals can be released after vessel departure from the port and only against full payment of prepaid charges.
