Due to the ongoing volatility in the Middle East and its impact on global oil production and refining, the logistics sector continues to face rapid and significant increases in fuel prices. To ensure uninterrupted service across our nationwide trucking network, Maersk Logistics and Services Singapore Pte Ltd will be implementing a surcharge for inland transport services.
This adjustment is an independent commercial decision made solely by Maersk, based on our own operating conditions and cost movements. It is a contractual and operational cost-recovery measure, and not a Force Majeure declaration.
The surcharge is a temporary measure, intended to maintain capacity, safeguard service reliability, and respond to the sudden and sustained rise in fuel-related operating expense.
This surcharge will be in place for as long as it is necessary to cover the increased costs that we are incurring. Surcharge codes will be presented on invoices as “EFS” (Export Fuel Surcharge) and “IFS” (Import Fuel Surcharge).
Coverage
Jurong Area SGD 50 per trip
Non Jurong Area SGD 65 per trip
Effective from 19 March 2026 (price calculation date) and until further notice we will implement this surcharge.
Given the volatility of the current energy market, further adjustments may be required as conditions evolve.
We understand the impact these measures may have on your operations and remain committed to supporting your logistics needs through this challenging period. For any questions or guidance, please reach out to your local Maersk Sales representative you are currently engaged with.
Thank you for your continued partnership and trust in Maersk.
(*) For non-FMC Store Door shipments, the price calculation date is the Estimated Time of Departure (ETD) of the first vessel shown in the most recent booking confirmation issued at the customer’s request, non-FMC Store Door shipments will be based on Booking Received Dates.
(*) For FMC shipments, the price calculation date is the date on which Maersk A/S, or one of its authorised agents, takes possession of the last container listed on the transport document. For FMC, the surcharge applies from 19 Apr 2026.
