Intent to Supply Inland Transportation and the related Equipment Handling Import (EHI) charge to all CY shipments via Antwerp, Belgium

As part of our continuous drive to improve and simplify your supply chain, Maersk has declared their Intent to Supply Inland Transportation for all import containers discharged in Antwerp from 1st of June 2025.

This Intent will allow Maersk to significantly speed up the handling times for barge and trucking and improve the execution of deliveries by taking care of your inland transportation. It will also help to reduce the time taken for returning empty containers and therefore reduce terminal waiting times – subsequently having a positive effect on customers’ CO2 emissions footprint in the Antwerp area.

Simplification means offering customers an all-in-one end to end import product, whereby you only need to provide the final delivery location and the date you wish to receive your container. Should you wish to opt out of this additional service, please contact your local representative.

If you wish to continue using merchant haulage, we will be introducing an Equipment Handling Import (EHI) charge to all CY shipments via Antwerp, Belgium, effective as of 1 June 2025. This fee will be applied to cover the additional costs associated with handling the equipment and allow us to maintain our level of service.

Please note that the charge is not applicable to shipments booked to Inland CY and SD destinations.
