In addition to the already existing IMPORT GATE FEE, Oakland International Container Terminal (OICT) has implemented an EXPORT GATE FEE. In order for an export container to ingate at OICT, the gate fee must be claimed via eModal prior to container arrival at the gate.

The fee applies to all gate moves, CY and Store Door. Unless it was previously specified in your contract with Maersk, we are unable to claim the fee on your behalf. The fee also applies to rail containers, as OICT does not have on-dock rail operations.

Important items noted from OICT:

  • To make an appointment/prearrival, booking/s need/s to be claimed on eModal.
  • If a customer claims a booking, they will be responsible for paying for ALL containers on the booking they claim (this cannot be modified by eModal).
  • They must pay outstanding invoices within 10 days or they will not be allowed to claim bookings/make appointments at OICT on future bookings.
  • The gate fee is $40 per container; SSA is absorbing the platform fee cost to eModal for payment of export gate fee.
  • eModal offers the option to pay export gate fees by credit card or debit card.
  • eModal also offers the option to pay export gate fees with ACH, but this requires an approval process by eModal.
  • The eModal help desk email is helpdesk@emodal.com.

Please note:
The process for OICT IMPORT GATE FEES will not change, i.e., customers can pay through eModal if they choose (subject to a platform fee), or they can contact the terminal to guarantee and the terminal will invoice.
