We want to inform you of an important update regarding your inland logistics services with our company at Barcelona port.
Due to the recent decrease on productivity at the Port of Barcelona, we are experiencing significant delays in our trucking operations. This congestion is a result of increased cargo volume, and it has impacted the efficiency of our transport services.
To maintain the quality and reliability of our services during this peak season, we find necessary to implement a temporary Peak Season Inland Surcharge .
This surcharge will apply to all Truck transports to and from/to the Port of Barcelona.
Surcharge Details:
- Name: Inland Peak Season Surcharge (IPE/IPI)
- Effective Date: 05/08/2024 Non-FMC // 05/09/2024 FMC
- Rate:45 EUR per container (ALL DRY//REEFER)
- Duration: Expecting to be two months this surcharge will remain in effect until the situation at the port is resolved and normal operations can resume, end of September Non-FMC & end of October FMC.
We understand that any additional costs can be a concern, and we assure you that this decision was made after careful consideration. The surcharge is essential to cover this unexpected situation and to ensure the safety and well-being of your supply chain operations.
We are closely monitoring the situation at the Port of Barcelona. We will promptly notify you once the situation will improve and the surcharge will not be longer necessary.
At Maersk, we take your views seriously, please contact us and let us know your concerns, feedback, and comments. We will keep you updated regarding this exceptional situation.
We want to thank you for your business and look forward to continuously serving your global transportation needs.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
