The Multimodal Awards serve as a prestigious platform for acknowledging excellence and innovation within the logistics and transportation industry. By recognising outstanding companies and individuals, the awards inspire others to strive for excellence, push the boundaries of what is possible, and drive the industry forward.

This year, Maersk was awarded the Multimodal 3PL Supplier of the Year 2023, recognising excellence in logistics and supply chain management. Whilst it is a privilege to win any award, this particular award was voted for by customers which is why it means so much to us. As the award recognises Maersk’s growth and innovation over the last few years, we are pleased to see the acknowledgement coming from our customers. Thank you to all who have voted on us.

It’s an honour to win this award. I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the entire Maersk UKI team whose hard work and unwavering dedication has made this possible. Huge thank you to our customers and partners who have trusted us with their business and leaned in to our strategy. It is this support and belief in our capabilities which has allowed us to push boundaries, embrace innovation, and find the value and improvements in their supply chains. Our success would not have been possible without colleagues' and customers' commitment to collaboration and making the Integrator strategy come to life every day.

This accolade serves as a reminder that we are on the right path, but it also reinforces our responsibility to continuously improve and exceed expectations. We are committed to pushing the boundaries of what is possible, investing in our people, and embracing innovation was on display at Multimodal this year, with Maersk’s new fully electric truck turning heads. .

The truck will be owned and operated by Swain Group on the Maersk Landside network. Maersk’s long-term goal in the United Kingdom and Ireland is to move toward a fully electric trucking fleet to offer customers an environmentally friendly alternative for short-haul trucking.

The truck will be deployed in the UK in Q3 2023 and will be looking to add more late 2023 and 2024.

We are delighted to be partnering with Swain on this significant step forward to delivering sustainable supply chain solutions to customers in the UK and Irish markets. Combining Landside solutions with the soon to be delivered vessels running on green methanol will allow us to start offering green end to end solutions for our customers and this will be the first of many initiatives to get us to net zero.

Alongside our electric truck, we also had Dexory on display. Dexory's innovative platform works with autonomous robots that deliver data and insights in real-time, optimising every logistics step from inbound to storage, picking to outbound, without any manual intervention or downtime.

With Dexory, businesses can easily measure, track, and locate goods, save costs, reduce carbon emissions, and explore data and AI. We're proud to have Dexory as part of our portfolio and are excited to see its continued growth and success.

Maersk rainbow container at multimodal event

Dexory is already operating in Maersk's Kettering warehouse with a view to roll these out even further.

Also turning plenty of heads was our eye-catching rainbow container which landed in Multimodal whilst on its journey around UKI. Once again it was met with the usual high energy and enthusiasm from all visitors, making it a must see at the event.

We would like to thank everyone who visited the Maersk booth, and who took their time to have a chat with us. Together we can explore new paths to truly integrated logistics. See you next year at Multimodal 2024.
