We would like to emphasize on the reinforcement of misdeclaration fee that was imposed back on 20th August 2019. Every cargo not correctly declared can endanger the safety of our crews, our assets, the environment, and other customers’ cargo.
As we continue to detect quite several misdeclarations recently, Maersk would like to emphasize that all customers who mis declare their dangerous cargo will be charged a fee of 5,000 USD per booking. Any additional cost that will result from taking corrective action will be charged on top of this fee.
We continue to work towards reducing risks for all parties involved in the handling and transportation of cargo, as well as an overall industry improvement of safety and reliability.
