Core services

Import customs clearance

Established process, regulated by customs authorities to register all cargo introduced in to the country and guarantee tax and duties collection. Also as-sure that special permits are extended to the cargo by corresponding entities when applicable.

Export Customs Clearance

Established process, regulated by customs authorities to guarantee right execution of rules and activities allowed by law to export merchandise from national territory.

Transit Documents (in bonds)

The goods are transported from one custom to an-other with full suspension of duties and taxes under Customs Regulations control. Clearance is completed at the destination customs.

HTS Classification

Based on technical cargo specifications a HTS code is assigned to the goods.

Non-Tariff Regulations (NTR) obtainment

Based on HTS code specific permits or licenses are required (i.e. Health, sanitary, environment permits, etc.)

Note: Maersk does not facilitate clearance on personal effect shipments.

What is required to complete Maersk Customs Services?

Import

  • Consignee must be registered as importer
  • Same address on unified tax register (RTU) must be shown on importers code (SAT)
  • Only authorized commodities on importers code can be cleared
  • Importer must be registered on customs regulations payments system (BANCASAT)
  • Customs agent code must be added to importers code

Mandatory documents required

  • Transport Document
  • Commercial invoice(s)
  • Packing list(s)
  • Classification Number / HS code

Additional documents (where applicable) *

  • Special licenses and permits
  • Non Tariff Regulations Certificates
  • Certificates of Origin

Export

  • Exporter must be registered on AGEXPORT
  • Exporter must have a positive balance to issue export declarations on SEADEX.
  • Seadex access

  • Booking confirmation
  • Classification number (HS code)
