Maersk Spot – US Trades
A smart solution for trading to and from the US
With Maersk Spot for US Trades, you can enjoy easy and secure movement of your goods to and from the United States every time.
The Maersk Spot service for US Trades is regulated by the FMC (Federal Maritime Confederation) and differs slightly from the regular Maersk Spot bookings.
What makes it different
- While booking, you will need to declare whether you are the ‘Price owner’ or ‘Agent’ and if you are the ‘Cargo owner’ or ‘NVOCC’ (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier).
- For every first Maersk Spot booking made by an ‘Agent’ on behalf of a customer, a LOA (Letter of Authorization) must be signed by the ‘Price owner’ before any Maersk Spot bookings can be confirmed. The LOA is valid for a year. The LOA template can be downloaded here.
In case of an amendment, a cancellation and a new booking is currently required. For more information, please refer to our FAQ section.
