Position Summary:
The Planning Analyst is responsible for planning, organizing and controlling the flow of resources as well as assisting with the planning process for increasing or decreasing production capacity. These tasks would require the Planning Analyst to be proficient in decision-making that requires strategic thinking, data analysis, and coordinating with department or project managers.
Position Responsibilities:
- Monitor the level of service vs. volume vs. cost and efficiency vs. capacity of the movement and storage of goods. Planning incorporates yard, door and labor requirements for both inbound containers and outbound trailers.
- Use detailed metrics/production assessments (by container content/customer requirements) to determine & communicate specific shift by shift production /labor plan for the operations
- Focus on the regional network/ buildings/yards as it relates to volume and labor. Consider network capacity and network hourly labor options
- Coordinate and control the order cycle in conjunction with the associated information systems (information management)
- Analyze data to monitor performance, overall improvements to plan & customer demand
- Automate and streamline processes
- Liaise and negotiate with customers, dray services, Inland Carriers and internal departments
- Develop business by analyzing logistical problems and producing new solutions
- Set objectives or KPI targets, and planning to meet them
- Continued efforts to optimize efficiency of the operation and reduce costs
- Develop forward knowledge of systems and changing government and municipal regulations to help build the infrastructure to support growth
- Perform other related duties as assigned

2. Technical
- Proficient with systems (i.e.: Maersk WnD operational systems ,Microsoft products; warehouse management systems –TMS; YMS; etc).

- Good verbal, writing and presentation skills.
- Highly proficient in MS Excel to include filters, pivots, and formulas.
- Ability to create ad-hoc client reports in MS Excel.
Experience and Skills
1. Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma/GED a must. Possessing a 4 year BS degree in Business, Logistics, Engineering or other STEM field is highly valued.
- Logistics and Transportation industry experience preferred.
- Advanced experience with Power BI ,Power query and power automate a must.

- Ability to work independently, typically initiating own tasks without input/guidance from manager.
- English proficiency in written and spoken forms.
- Other language proficiency is a plus.

$60,000 - $70,000
*The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
