About Maersk Project Logistics:

Project logistics is a specialized sector of the logistics industry, requiring an integrated approach to the global orchestration of material flow, order management, and shipment execution from multiple origins to a defined site location. This includes the transportation of regular, out-of-gauge (OOG) cargo and other sensitive items across various transport modes (Ocean, Air, and Land) to ensure delivery in full, on time, and in the correct sequence as per the customer’s project plan and schedule.

Our Project Logistics teams combine traditional freight forwarding and transport capabilities with the specialized skills needed for complex project planning, transport engineering, procurement, and Health, Safety, Security, Environment, and Quality (HSSEQ) compliance. We excel in project transport solution design, special cargo transportation, specialized transport asset management, and comprehensive project management services.

The Role:

We are seeking an experienced Operational Finance or Shipment Run Controller to join our global team. This role will be responsible for designing and improving global policies for shipment files, ensuring global standards for financial data, including charge codes, job status, and interfaces with business controlling teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement global shipment run controlling/FINOPS policies and processes for Maersk Project Logistics (MPL).
  • Communicate policy and process changes across the MPL organization to ensure global standardization.
  • Translate policies into Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training plans for global operations teams.
  • Conduct detailed requirements analysis.
  • Develop reports to track shipment run KPIs and implementation status.
  • Manage complex stakeholder relationships to ensure all relevant parties are involved and informed.
  • Communicate effectively at multiple organizational levels, including full project reporting.
  • Monitor progress and outstanding tasks.
  • Identify and onboard stakeholders to rollout plans and tasks.
  • Define timelines and rollout plans.
  • Design training plans and map dependencies on other initiatives.
  • Create and maintain project documentation and overviews.
  • Discuss technical solutions and options with relevant teams and stakeholders.

What You Bring:

  • Background in shipment run controlling, FINOPS, or business controlling.
  • Ability to identify customer pain points using qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Proven ability to take ownership of complex and critical products and make effective decisions.
  • Customer-focused with excellent attention to detail and a strong drive to serve customers.
  • Ability to direct efforts toward achieving long-term business objectives.
  • Stimulates creative ideas and perspectives that add value.
  • Strong understanding of Maersk’s business complexity and the role of products within the organization.
  • Excellent communication skills to support new product ideas to senior and executive leadership.
