As the Claims Manager Apapa Terminal and Nigeria, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of the customer experience and related claims processes. You will own driving continuous improvement of process performance, serving as the main point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders regarding claim-related issues, guiding customers and colleagues in claims handling processes, facilitating recoveries from third parties, and providing recommendations for claims prevention and corrective measures. This role requires a customer-centric mindset, strong communication skills, and the ability to lead and implement process improvements. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Managing the function budget 
  • Negotiating the annual premiums and drive improved terms with insurance partners
  • Own and drive improvements in key performance indicators related to claims, including but not limited to, incident frequency, claims ratios, recovery rate, etc.
  • Oversee the handling of all types of claims and ensure timely and accurate processing of claims in accordance with relevant policies and legal requirements.
  • Deliver on Customer Satisfaction through focused initiatives and targeted improvements basis customer feedback.
  • Ensure services are delivered to the customers as promised, with relevant root cause analysis being done and ensuring that customers are kept informed of relevant deviations.
  • Empower teams to solve customer queries faster and accurately, first time.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders as well as external parties and maintain clear and effective communication to facilitate the claims process.
  • Maintain detailed records of all claims and related activities.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration/ Insurance/ actuarial sciences/ logistics/ supply chain management/ law/ or a related field. A master’s degree or professional certifications in claims management, risk management, or a related area can be an advantage.
  • Significant years of experience in claims management, preferably within the logistics, shipping, or terminal operations industry.
  • Background in handling customer inquiries and resolving complaints.
  • Experience in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with claims.
