The opportunity:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team in Canada. As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for sourcing new ground transportation clients across Canada and the United States of America, focusing on all modes of transportation. You will work closely with our sales team to identify and pursue new business opportunities, and develop and execute business development strategies to drive revenue growth and increase market share.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source new ground transportation clients across Canada and the United States via all modes of transportation

  • Establish and maintain critical success factors to ensure seamless integration with our logistics services

  • Sell additional integrated logistics services, including intermodal, container haulage, supply chain management, transload/warehousing, customs house brokerage, and insurance

  • Monitor profitability and contract renewal negotiations

  • Provide problem-solving support to clients and internal stakeholders

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders

  • Travel with clients when mutually beneficial

  • Resolve large and complex issues/problems

  • Communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders across all levels

  • Comply with all Federal, Provincial, and Local legal requirements

  • Perform other job-related duties as required

We are looking for:

  • 3-5 years of North American external sales experience in transportation or logistics industry and business development experience.

  • Fluent in both English and French required

  • Business understanding - ability to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of customer and Maersk's industry and market dynamics, value drivers, products, services, systems, and business processes

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, listening, probing, and closing skills

  • Strong working knowledge of Salesforce.com and MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Ability to quickly adapt and work with new software

  • Travel, as required

Pay Range: $90,000-$100,000* + Yearly Sales Incentive Program 

*The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
