A.P Maersk Senegal is looking for a motivated and driven Area Automation Specialist INTERN. This role is to leverage cutting-edge knowledge and skills in automation by combining automation technologies with artificial intelligence to support Continuous Improvement initiatives in an innovative way, for better efficiency and optimization of processes. The Trainee will be in charge of organizing and deploying automation and digitization of processes in Northern West Africa Are, Under the supervision of the Automation and Digitization SME.

Main responsibilities:

  • Build trusted data pipelines for Customer Experience that will enable analysis.

  • Collect data from various systems such as (Case management, GCSS, CODS, COMET, SharePoint, etc.) into a unified data pipeline which will serve all future analytic jobs.

  • Automate the data engineering process.

  • Leverage industry standards to build a data culture within the area.

  • Develop an Automation Strategy by assessing the current state, identifying automation opportunities and defining the road-map for implementation.

  • Process Analysis and Documentation: Analyze existing processes to identify their pain points and provide potential automation solutions.

  • Automation Design and Development: Automate manual tasks and streamline processes by using appropriate technologies and tools.

  • Perform rigorous testing to identify and resolve any issues/bugs to ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of the automated solutions.

  • Coordinate the implementation and deployment of the automated solutions.

  • Set-up a mechanism to monitor the performance of the automated solutions by generating reports and analyzing data to measure the impact of automation, identify areas of improvement and demonstrate the return on investment (ROI).

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their automation needs, gather requirements and perform comprehensive analysis on existing processes.

  • Conduct user training sessions to roll out the automation solution to ensure smooth adoption and effective utilization of the automated processes.

  • Continuously monitor the performance of the automated solution to identify bottlenecks and optimize the processes for better efficiency.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor/ Master’s degree in Computer Science, information Technology, Artificial Intelligence.

  • Proven Internships in area of study.

  • Proficiency with MS 365 tools, Power Platform, Advanced Excel - VBA.

  • Data Analytics Skills: Excel, SQL, Power BI / Tableau.

  • French and English languages fluency.

  • Nice to have: Familiarity with cloud computing, (Azure, AWS, GCP), proficiency with Python, Business knowledge

  • “Digital driven” with focus on customer experience

  • Stakeholder management, Communication, and Analytical skills.

  • Result orientation.
